London Dungeon Halloween 2012
Stingy Jack has been the icon character for the London Dungeon for several years but in 2012 he has taken his turnip head and left the building! With a vacancy to fill, the Dungeon has introduced The Trickster and kicked off their Halloween event early to become "The Home of Halloween". Promised "terrifying tricks around every corner" we went along to see if the new resident lived up to his name...
The outside of the venue has been decorated for Halloween with extra fixtures adorning the main attraction sign and new queue-line barriers. It's a nice touch that sets the scene for what is to come.
Once inside, a new scene involving the Trickster has been created that gives people the potential to gamble on a trick or a treat. Not surprisingly, being a Dungeon attraction, the odds are stacked towards trick and our group is "tricked" into taking the rest of the tour. As we continued through torture, plague and death we spied the Trickster during a number of scenes, ever present, ever watching and making sure that we weren't getting any treats!

As a concept we preferred the Trickster to Stingy Jack but couldn't help thinking that we'd missed something along the way. The Trick or Treat element is clearly fixed in his favour, otherwise it would be a very short trip, but this has to be expected with an attraction with such high throughput. Not surprisingly - all the regular Dungeon scenes were played out with the gusto and enthusiasm we come to expect, so the Trickster was just an extra treat on top of the usual fun!
The Trickster will be appearing at London and Blackpool until November 4th
