Scare Kingdom Christmas 2015 - FestEVIL
Scare Kingdom Scream Park are back for another out of season scare event - the Christmas FestEVIL. The line-up includes ‘Krampus Night’ set inside the always stunning Manormotis house, along with Psychomantium's 8th Incarnation ‘Oral Intrusion’.
On the short walk to the first attraction, a selection process was undertaken to identify who would be first in the house. This really built up the anticipation and as we arrived at the Manormortis building, we were already slightly nervous about what to expect. Therefore it was quite a surprise to be met by jolly old Father Christmas himself, awaiting someone to sit on his lap!
This tongue in cheek St Nick was lighthearted and witty but soon introduced us to the dark side of Christmas - Krampus - the monster that is always watching. Wewere then plunged deeper into the Manormortis house, exploring the relatively unchanged layout, but once again admiring the beautiful theming. Each room we visited, delivered a piece of well written and well-acted theatre exploring the story of Krampus that haunts the house. We enjoyed the poetic speech of the main Krampus character who followed us throughout the entire attraction like an evil storyteller.
The theatre was merged well with impact scares throughout the experience. Although we always enjoy the more theatrical out of season experiences delivered by Scare Kingdom, our only past criticism has been the stop/start flow of the attraction which sometimes felt disjointed. However this year’s attraction flowed perfectly, with just the right amount of time spent in each room with jump scares executed well throughout joining corridors.
After a poetic finish to Manormotis, we signed our waiver for Physchomantium Oral Intrusion. This attraction continues to be the sickest attraction in the UK. Although this version relied less on the shock value of nakedness and twisted sexual practices, it still packed the sick punch that we have come to expect, with this reviewer being the closest ever to saying the safe word. In fact, we still have a bad taste in our mouths!
All in, Scare Kingdom ended 2015 with a bang, with two solid attractions for their Christmas FestEVIL event. We look forward to seeing what the AtmosFEAR team have up their sleeves for next year.
