Cracked vs Heretic
Here at ScareTOUR we have made no secret of the fact that we dislike "extreme experiences" that require guests to physically endure pain, discomfort, humiliation, nudity, or any sort of physical bruising etc. We personally consider these experiences to be something more akin to running a marathon or completing an extreme obstacle course like Tough Mudder. But there is no denying that they are meant to test you to your limits, and there must be a huge sense of elation and relief when you have finished.
This past weekend has seen Cracked Vs Heretic. - a true merger of American and UK extreme attractions, and we have heard many, many stories from some of our readers who love this type of event and attended for themselves. They certainly left bruised and battered (we've seen the "after" photos!) but everyone has stated what an amazing experience it was for them personally, to try and survive and NOT say the safe word. Well done to everyone involved from both sides of the pond.

This was hands down the best extreme horror event I have ever attended. And I have been to quite a few in the US as well as in the UK that called themselves "extreme" and promised to be the best but then didn't deliver!
These events do appeal to a rather small group of people, yes. It's not for everyone. But the ones like me that do enjoy this form of entertainment expect a lot from the these events and just want to get the biggest adrenaline rush from participating in them. And almost a week after the event, that rush I had during and after Cracked vs. Heretic still hasn't faded!
To me, Heretic and it's creator Adrian Marcato had always been the holy grail of immersive horror, I first heard about them back in 2014 and I've always had this dream of being able to attend one of their shows one day. Then Cracked was created and it had everything I could have ever asked for in terms of immersion and "extreme". The build-up, the nature of the event itself, and just perfect for an adrenaline junkie like me. Blake, definitely the best character ever created for an event, lured me in and never let go off me again!
And now, in 2017 it was time for the clash of the titans...the collaboration of Cracked and Heretic. Once against the other, Blake vs. Adrian. There had been months and months of build-up on the player's page on Facebook until it was finally time for the actual event.
I'm still struggling to find the words to describe the 6 hours of pure fear, terror and horror I went through. Starting with the pick up, me and my fellow subjects were then thrust into a tug of war between two equally scary events, Blake and Adrian both being masters of their trade. The whole night was like an emotional roller coaster ride and an immense physical as well as mental challenge.
Extremely physical bits alternated with situations that really messed with my mind. For the first time ever, I was about to forget that it's all just an event. It felt a lot more real than I could have ever imagined.
I was pushed to my limits, both physical and mental. And I definitely crossed some of my own personal boundaries which left me with an amazing feeling of accomplishment.
Pain, panic, breathlessness (quite literal) and emotional distress were paired with simple, yet stunning visuals, beautiful scenes that left a lasting impression, great locations and an amazing team of terrifying actors that managed to blur the lines between fiction and reality in a way that was truly scary.
The night ended with a group of wet, cold, filthy, emotionally drained. physically exhausted people, clothes torn to shreds....but all of us had the biggest smiles on our faces, raving about what a great, unique and amazing experience the event had been.
The teams behind Cracked and Heretic have definitely set the bar very high for this sort of event and I can't thank them enough for all the effort and passion that was put into this...it just doesn't compare to anything else out there.

This was one of the best scare attractions I have been to hands down! The team who put this show together truely cares for what they are doing and that is very evident throughout the attraction! I flew over from the states to experience this and I WILL definitely be back to go again! If you are looking to be truely terrified and to really push yourself, this is the place for you!

This was the most ambitious, most mindblowing experience the UK, or any place in Europe has ever seen. Handled safely, with a high degree of professionalism by two incredibly passionate teams. An absolute mindwarp of a nightmare. Needed to be experienced to be believed.

Cracked vs heretic was a journey like no other. Not just a one night only event, but a build up over months of Blake and Adrian getting inside your head. A players page where they weaved inside your thoughts and brought my dreams (nightmares actually.....) into reality. From buying a ticket right up until the event itself I entered Blake and Adrians world. A twisted and terrifying journey with ups of adrenaline and ground hitting downs feeling broken, terrified, breathless and yet strangely accomplished. A real test of character, strength & stamina. Cracked Vs heretic was an immersive full on battle between two of the strongest of characters. An experience that I will never forget and no doubt will haunt me for years to come!! The whole event was amazing and the team behind the event really did knock the ball out of the park..... Worth every penny. I've never been as scared in my entire life and exactly one week later the adrenaline is still pumping. well done to the creative team and all of the actors!!!!! Until next time........

Terrifying mix of survival of the fittest, against surreal horror elements, very well executed would recommend to anyone looking to do something abit more out of the box,x

Terrifying
Immersive, mind blowing, terrifying and at some points, even beautiful.

Words cannot describe fully, how much this event has affected me! A truly terrifying, nauseous, physical/mental, full on assault of all the senses.
Yes, I did crack...not saying why/how/when? Lol. I was gutted to leave the event...but am determined to return again! Huge amount of thanks to all involved! BTW Adrian's crew seemed to really 'enjoy' themselves!
The storyline was fully immersive, from the v start...this was a huge highlight for me personally X Who would like to be a player then? I would suggest doing some homework, before signing up though! Best of luck with this...I'm saying nothing xxxxxxxxxx

From first stumbling upon the page on facebook, to agonising over whether I was brave/crazy enough to buy a ticket, to the fear, excitement and anxiety of the build up, to sitting in a pub in Wakefield with a group of people equally as crazy as myself, to sitting in a van, bruised, dirty and clothes torn to shreads after completing all 6 hours of my first ever extreme immersive horror event. Cracked vs heretic turned out to be the most incredible journey.
As promised I certainly had stepped into the minds of two creative twisted humans in Blake and Adrian, but it was much more (in everyway) than I could have ever imagined. Physically exhausting, mentally draining, totally immersive, utterly professional and beautiful. I was able to push myself beyond where I thought my limits lay, find my survival instinct and learn who I really am.
As the bruises now begin to fade unfortunately so does the adrenaline, but the memories of that night, they will stay with me forever!
Gutted that it's over (for now) but I'm so honoured to have been a part of such a amazing and 'breathtaking' experience.

Mildly scary
Wanna do it again soon.

Very scary
My first real experience of an extreme scare attraction and it lived up to it's name. Wish I had progressed further but was thwarted by the physical side of things... mind and body would have loved to see how much more pain and torture I could have coped with!
Great actors, great setting and well thought out to mess with every sense possible. Some unexpected twists and turns along the way and you have a recipe for an extreme night out not to be forgotten in a hurry, and most definitely revisited as soon as possible!

Most physically demanding and scary event i have been to but at the same time most brilliant and rewarding. From the day you purchase a ticket your experience starts and the build up just adds to the overall experience. The transition between the 2 events worked great and made for a great storyline. Cant wait for next time.
