In a shock piece of news I was informed today that Pasaje del terror in London has closed for good.
The closure yesterday was as a result of some ongoing action between the attraction owners and the landlords. As such everything excluding the basic sets and fixings were removed from the premises and the actors were asked to go home. This action has no impact on the Blackpool Pasaje Del Terror which will open as normal for the summer season. Pasaje always seemed to have a rough time in London. Although based on a VERY busy pedestrian street, it seemed that people were far too busy walking past to get somewhere else as opposed to heading to the venue. A lot of this is to do with the beleagured Trocadero centre which once was a prestigous central London location but over the years has developed into a combination of tacky market stalls and souvenir shops. I may not have raved about it when it first opened (see my review here) but since then it had improved and changed a lot and has actually been very successful in terms of visitors and revenue. Pasaje del Terror London - Rest in peace Any comments?

Such a shame to see any attraction go, its not one we ever managed to get to do. Many of the businesses in the Trocadero seem to struggle from what I've seen whether thats due to low footfall or exceptionally high rent or whatever, I cant really comment but maybe theres a chance of seeing a Pasaje reborn somewhere else in London.

I only went to pasaje del terror once and i must admit it was such an amazing experience. When i got home i told everyone about it and also recommended it. I believe it was better than london dungeons. Its sad to see it go but i will have to go blackpool soon to relive the experience.

I decided to go in to the Passaje del terror with some friends on a day out and was not disappointed! The price seemed a bit high but from the t.v screens out front showing public reactions it seemed worth a go. I would say the entrance was quite small and not very noticeable next to other shops and attractions nearby. We watched the film at the first stage which was interesting and from it we assumed we were going to be chased by Jack The Ripper in a maze of some sort but once we entered the next part of the attraction it became clear that wasn't the case, but i have to say each scene we passed, was over the top scary it was absolutely brilliant and precise in detail. I even ran in to a wall i was so scared. We were chased, grabbed, screamed at etc... and it was one of the most scariest things i have ever done! By the end i fell out of the exit shaking and it took me a while to get myself together and realize we were in trockadero. I recommended this place to many friends and they all said it was brilliant and i can honestly say i cannot go in to dark passages or other scary attractions as i have been very affected by this attraction and neither can my friends but by hell it was worth it. The one thing i would say is i noticed they had cctv within each scene obviously for legal reasons and i think they would of been able to make more profit by actually recording the public's reactions and selling them as dvd's to take home.
