Review - Zombie Uprising - The Circus - Chesterfield
Having only just experienced the main zombie show before Halloween, we were excited when we heard that Zombie Uprising were planning a clown themed experience. Surely it wouldn't have the tension and scares of the main show? How wrong we were!
Waiting outside the gates, we were already getting nervous - the building is outstanding for this type of event and even scarier looking now the nights are darker. We were ordered to park up and stand in a line, while 3 army looking men started walking up and down shouting commands. All of a sudden the sky was filled with light up balloons, and the army guys, clearly unsettled, tried to shoot them down before sending us running into a building to escape. Inside, the darkness was peppered with areas of bright carnival colours to set the theme, and once decontamination was complete we were sent into the base, loaded with our weapons (which we had been upgraded to the best ones) and sent with our team into the first mission!
The missions were very similar to the traditional Zombie Uprising, but when we came face to face with the laughing clowns it was a whole different experience. As we moved through the night, each mission steadily got harder and harder, and on the final mission we were surrounded by all different types of clowns. It was creepy walking into darkened rooms, yet hearing their voices inside taunting us. Far scarier than a growling zombie! This only made the anticipation even greater as all we could hear were creepy voices in the distance, calling to us The previously mentioned Titan was also everywhere and just as we thought we had got away from him we would hear the familiar sound of his chainsaw. Completing the final mission, we ran for survival back to base followed by what seemed to be hundreds of clowns and the sound and smell of the chainsaw. We burst through the doors to safety, and with a huge surprise found out our our team had won!
We were really surprised by the event. We have thoroughly enjoyed the previous zombie version, but the clowns just took the whole thing up to a new level. Amazing that just a little bit of lighting, a change of music and a few clowns would make such a difference. We absolutely loved it!

Terrifying
This is the third zombie event we have visited and it was by far the best. Three hours both flew by and also felt like a lifetime! We were all absolutely shattered by the end. The tasks were great and really kept us busy. The zombies were fast, persistent and everywhere and the invincible zombie was a stroke of genius! The only suggestion I would make would be to try and get the introductory team (military personnel) to be a bit more in character, but that's a minor thing. Overall amazing!
