Phobophobia at London Bridge Experience 2015
If you have been following us for a while, you may remember that at last year's Phobophobia event, ScareTOUR creator and main reviewer, Michael Bolton, ended up marrying a bearded man in a wedding dress at gun point. It was a memory we had been trying to forget about. It would seem that London Bridge Experience had other ideas..
It turned out that whole elements of this year's show were directly linked back to the events of Halloween 2014. Posters advertised the stars of the freak show as the Jilted Lady and the hairy half breed monkey boys were lovably named Michael and Bolton. Of course the bride was waiting for his return having set up an impressive shrine (comprising of hundred of pictures of Michael) plus a chance to meet the offspring he's left behind - some devious characters that surprised us all with some really impressive scares that at one point had us dropping to the floor in fright.
When asked if these were just temporary additions as the venue knew we were coming, the creative team confirmed that this is all part of the normal show. We've had subtle mentions in other attractions in the past but never had a whole story built around us!
Of course the story is just part of the event and the real stars are the physical and intense actors that cover the whole of the top floor of the experience. The educational portion of the daily tour has gone and the freaks have taken over - leaving a trail of mayhem and screams in their place. It's actually almost a relief then when you get to the London Tombs section of the show, as you know that the normal scares will commence. The thing is - when you're the London Tombs, the "normal scares" are just as scary as anything else!
The bottom half of the show remains unchanged for Phobohobia, it just add a few more actors to the mix. After all - why be chased by one chainsaw wielding maniac when you can be chased by two? The finale was one of the strongest we have seen at the venue as the characters got VERY close with their power tools and chased us all the way upstairs and into the gift shop.
The whole London Bridge Experience is impressive during normal operation but really ramps up the scares for Phobophobia. By converting the upstairs section to scares as well as down stairs it creates an intense event that certainly left us hoarse from screaming and our hearts pounding. If you are looking for some quality scares in London for Halloween , then look no further,...
