Zombie Outbreak - Genting Highlands - Review
Resorts World Genting is a huge entertainment complex built on the top of a mountain in Malaysia. With two theme parks, multiple hotels, a massive shopping mall etc, it really is like a mini Las Vegas in the clouds with something for everyone to experience. In one corner of the mall sits Ripleys Adventureland, a stand alone entertainment complex that hosts Zombie Outbreak.
The experience is like a walkthrough ghost train with a number of different animatronic jump scares in each room. Although most of these are signposted or expected ahead of time, there were still that actually made us jump (especially the ones from under the table!) On top of that there was one very active actor who would come and go through rooms, rattle doors and generally make a nuisance of himself throughout our run.
What surprised us was actually how long the experience was (the video below is just part of the walk through) and how detailed some of the sets were. If they ever wanted to go to a full on scare attraction they would need a good number of actors to fill it!
So although this wasn't the scariest experience of our visit to Malaysia, we had a fun time going through and it was great to get another attraction under our belt. If you are ever in Kuala Lumpur, we would definitely recommend a trip up to Genting Highlands just to see the sheer scale of the place. Whilst there, you'd be silly not to check in on the Zombies inside!
