The Murderous Memorandum - Book Review
We don't usually review books, but the publishers reached out to us, and with the darkly comical subject matter - we couln't resist giving this one a read.
So the Murderous Memorandum is an A to Z illustrated manual as to the 26 different ways for children to murder their parents. The deaths are gruesome and inventive, and are all accompanied by terrifying shadow like drawings that show the children as devilish figures with piercing white eyes.
The text accompanying each picture is told in a classic lighthearted rhyming style, which counterpoints the darkness of the imagery and of the actions, while an opening poem sets the scene for the chaos and mayhem about to transpire.
Like any good horror, the situation makes uncomfortable reading whilst also being hilariously dark. The author isn't really encouraging children to kill their parents and a cheeky foreword does advise that "No parents were harmed during the making of this book"
