Tredegar House at Halloween always a sell-out. I have been visiting for 8 years now every year seems to be getting better. As you walk to the house expect to get chased to the entrance by chainsaw maniacs. When you get to the door you will be met by the butler who often seems rather dusty in the past they have also used a ghost. As you walk around the house be prepared for anything there are some rooms which involve sketches which change yearly but have included frankenstein , dracula , zombies , people being decapitated, exorcisms etc.
There are often moments where lights go out and strobe lighting kicks in as people jump out of places making unexpected loud bangs. There are always characters hidden around the building, behind walls and doors ready to jump out at you. The attic can be really freaky as it is so dark with strobe lights and narrow corridors where actors can jump out of, Towards the end there is normally a magician or little game in the servants hall just to calm the quaking kids down! But this is not the end, after they leave this room they're straight back into the action with a few more sketches and jump out scenes. Sometime we go straight into the cellars which were converted into a maze with a narrow walkway and dark corners for actors to hide round. Very dark and noisy but loads of fun!
Once outside the house it's onto the pitch black gardens. There are two routes: the safe route for the cissies or the dangerous routes for those ready for yet another chase! You never know what you find whether it be approaching zombies or an un-dead bride hiding in the trees jumping out at you At the end is every one's worst nightmare - you guessed it yes more chainsaws. They chase you to the stables where there are burger vans and Dracula's disco for those who want to get down and boogie. As I mentioned the event is always a sell out and well worth the visit. This event is intended to frighten but at the same time have some fun. I rated it very scary due to there being people who pass out or throw up in some instances!
