The Fear: Horror House
In previous years, The Fear Horror House ran as a home haunt, and in 2010 was awarded “Best Charity Event” in the region. Owner and creator Sean Rouse has gone bigger and better for 2011 with the event taking place at the larger venue of the Prince Albert Pub in Copthorne. But does bigger mean better?
As we neared the attraction, we were greeted with a sinister soundtrack and a good use of eerie lighting which raised the atmosphere and excitement for our group. With our charity tickets purchased, we made our way over to the busy queue line.
Due to the attraction being built outside in marquees we could hear some of the actors' dialogue and terrified screams of the guests from within, while we waited in the queue. This only built up the anticipation even more!
The attraction itself is based around a tale of the Prince Albert Pub being built on the remains of an evil old lady whose tale would be presented in 13 terrifying rooms. We didn’t actually follow the main story very well but that’s probably due to the fact that we were so scared throughout!
Each room had impressive lighting, sound effects and importantly, some of the most enthusiastic actors we had ever met. None of these were professional actors, yet they all managed to execute some very impressive scares from some unexpected places. The final scene had us running out screaming like so many groups before us. A great finale to a great attraction!

The Fear Horror House should be commended for the excellent charity work; along with the obvious passion one individual has in creating a professional attraction. We look forward to seeing what they come up with next year and beyond!
