Silence: Playtime is Over - Jungleland Telford
Last year we visited Jungleland in the heart of Telford, a children's soft play area that organises a halloween event which included their maze Mission Of Fear. It's safe to say we came away suitably impressed and terrified. This year Escape Entertainment return with a brand new maze 'Silence: Playtime Is Over' for one night only.
The interesting thing about Silence: Playtime Is Over is that the team have once again gauged their target audiences and tailored the experience perfectly. We've all seen parents with their children leaving a maze before it's even started, but here children are given the confidence to make it through the maze not only by the team but by the use of 'Spook Vests', which are worn by the not so confident children to identify which guests need to be approached in more subtle ways. It seems to work perfectly and we saw children going through for multiple runs once their confidence had been built up.
Conversely, the team don't go easy on the rest of the group, this years maze felt a little darker than last year and actors really worked the space and made the most of the maze's space playing to it's strengths. The team used a good combination of impact and distraction scares . For this year, Escape Entertainment have had help from deviously brilliant Twisted Attractions in designing some of the technical aspects of the maze.
Once again the team delivered a quality attraction which delighted and scared us in equal amounts and in fact our biggest and really only criticism is that it ran for one night only, meaning less people got to experience it this year which is a real shame. The team's passion shines through and they've perfected their skills into creating something brilliant.
As part of a family attraction, this event strives to be fun for all, so inclusive of their ticket price there is also a Halloween disco, use of the soft play centre and many more fun activities including crafts for those who don't want to enter their maze attraction. We found that this can take further pressure off both the adults and children, as they can enjoy as mild, or as intense an experience as they wish.
