Ouija Bournemouth
Question - When is a horror themed room escape NOT a horror themed room escape?
Answer - When it is a horror themed HOUSE escape!
Here at ScareTOUR, we are used to our escape experiences being set just in one room, so it came as a massive surprise that Ouija Bournemouth uses a whole house for its adventure. Room after room kept coming, with all manner of devious puzzles and clues to solve, before escaping into the next room. Our trip through the house took us upstairs and down, as well as through darkened tunnels. It was hard to know what would come next, and the clever use of lights (or lack of) created great tension throughout.
What we also hadn't expected was the live action elements, that at times had us genuinely terrified and clinging to each other in the pitch darkness. The speed at which these characters appeared and disappeared was very impressive, and their attacks were relentless. So when certain members of the group were singled out to venture out on solo missions around the house, it was something more akin to a scare attraction that a puzzle game!
As with all escape rooms, we don't want to give too much away as we wouldn't want to ruin any of the fun. But right from the start we were hooked, and the whole team were experienced some great scares throughout. Fortunately we made it out in decent time - although it felt like we were in there for ever (which can only be a good thing). Our only criticism would be that it possibly lacked a killer ending. A bit more panic that time was running out or the threat that a creature was coming for us, would have left us running out the final door.
Aside from that, we had a genuinely terrifying time that had us screaming and jumping in equal measures. Well done to all the team for pulling off something so exciting. If you like puzzles, and you like scares, then you HAVE to visit Ouija Bournemouth!
