Old Market Scare
Located in the heart of Nottingham town centre, Old Market Scare is the latest Halloween event launching in the Midlands. Coming from the creative team behind events such as Scare Kingdom and Fear Island, our expectations were high, but could Old Market Scare live up to the hype?
We attended a sneak peak at a press preview teaser of Horror Hotel a couple of days before opening to find out. Due to the nature of the preview event, we only got to see a short snippet of the full experience. While this was unfortunate, we are pleased to say the segment of the attraction we did was thrilling and had our hearts racing from the sheer volume of scares. For a 5 minute preview we encountered an overwhelming number of actors. The hanging sheet section in particular impressed us with a barrage of jumps from all round and we were screaming from start to finish, especially at the charming scene which played out in the Card room.
Being the headline attraction at Market Scare, Horror Hotel has clearly had a lot of heart and soul poured into it. The production oozes atmosphere, with some great costuming and set design. Alongside this, there are elements of theatricality which really helped fully immerse us into the attraction. While this was just a preview, we could clearly see the direction the creators were going for with the full show and we are pleased to say this appears to be a very exciting attraction in the making.
Nottingham Market Scare and Horror Hotel have since opened publicly to guests and has been receiving great feedback. We were very impressed with the section that we saw, and after chatting with the creative team we are excited to see what the final production entails.
