Manoir de Paris
Did you know there is a year round haunted attraction in the middle of Paris? Called Le Manoir de Paris, this three storey attraction contains two immersive shows. But what is it? Is it a large haunted house or is it more a story driven attraction like the Dungeons? The best way to describe it is if those two somehow got together and had a baby! Or maybe like the two parts of the London Bridge Experience combined into one!
Between ticketing and the main entrance was a small queue where we had to wait. The actors working the line were scaring people and definitely setting up the mood for the tour itself. Once it was our turn we were batched in together, just the two of us. No strangers where added to our group at the time we where there, which made the experience more intimate. Once inside, the sets are beautifully decorated and you can see that a lot of thought has gone into the lights, sounds and effects. Every room had at least one actor, who either told the story, directly scared us or set us up for an even better scare.
Now anybody who has ever been to France knows that the language is always a problem if you don't speak French. But at Le Manoir de Paris this was not a problem. All the information signs were available in English, and they gave us a glow stick to take with us, which was a sign for the actors that this was an English speaking group. The only downside being that the glowstick sometimes revealed a bit too much of the upcoming scares!
The overall experience is made up of two parts. Legendes de Paris itself feels like a Dungeon history type show, but with a lot of scares while Royal Hotel Paradis tells a complete immersive story. Both ended with great finales.
We where surprised by Le Manoir de Paris as you rarely hear much about it. We didn't expect it to be as good as it was and the actors really made the show - they were all totally believable and scary. So if you are near Paris, you should definitely check this out! They are open at weekends year round with seasonal shows and events throughout the year.
