Hellfest Summer 2016
After completing their biggest event to date at last Halloween's Hellfest Terror Park, the team now have something new on offer - two brand new attractions that will be open throughout the summer.
Coulrophobia
Coulrophobia can only be described as a clown maze, but this one is a little more sinister. The clowns are brought to life by an intense, talented bunch of actors but they aren’t all smiles and giggles. These clowns are very dark and very evil! The attraction is housed in the original ‘Panic Unlocked’ venue that was used in 2015, however it is barely recognisable. With many new scenes and an altered layout, Coulrophobia really does feel like a completely new maze. The attraction itself uses some classic techniques to get some quality scares alongside fog, strobes and a great soundtrack to create a fun and jumpy visit.
Dr Hades' Fear Theatre
Dr Hades Fear Theatre is a brand new attraction and is something completely different for the Twisted team. Despite an unimpressive façade, the theming inside the attraction more than makes up for it.
We took our seats and eagerly waited for the the show to start. And this is what makes the Fear Theatre different to any other scare attraction we have visited. It’s a show, not a maze, scare zone, haunt, or ride. It is a scare show that uses techniques from such attractions, making it an extremely unique experience.
The 20 minute show uses two strong, well thought out characters that were expertly played by the Twisted cast. The mixture of actor led scares along with some impressive scene/set scares and special effects worked extremely well to give the whole audience a fright.
We don’t want to give too much away about this show as the experience will be far better if you go in blind. What we can say is that the team have created something completely unique and different - we've certainly never experienced anything quite like this before!
For an out of season line-up, Twisted Attractions have really excelled with these two attractions. It's great that the team have the foresight to run scare attractions throughout the summer and we hope this starts a new trend. In the meantime, they will be open most weekends up until September...
