Halloween Raveyard at The Vaults
The biggest, most extravagant adult-only Halloween party in London returned to The Vaults this year. Featuring an impressive line-up of bands, DJs and entertainers, mixed with scare rooms and interactive experiences, this is a solid fixture on the scare calendar.
The Vaults is an incredible venue which lends itself beautifully to scare events. The location, a vast stretch of connected arches beneath Waterloo station, is home to a constantly changing smorgasbord of arts, from the visual to the visceral variety. They have played host to multiple scare events in the past, but their crowning glory must be Raveyard, the annual Halloween party for the twisted. We were treated to live music and DJ sets while ghouls and goblins hopped out of the shadows to scare and surprise. The venue is fully licensed and drink prices are much cheaper than other local venues, which further boosted the atmosphere. Everyone gets into the mood with costumes and makeup which provides a jarringly enjoyable sensation as ghostly pirates dance with bloodied nurses, watched by zombies and convicts. Even though attendees seem to number into the thousands, there is plenty of space and enough bars to ensure you don’t feel crowded (plus if you are a local resident, you can get free tickets!)
I would also mention the lovely staff at The Vaults who are probably the most friendly, helpful and welcoming team in the whole of central London. From the bar staff to security, they make every visit a delight. Raveyard is my favourite way to celebrate Halloween is at The Vaults, and long may it continue!
