Fear Factory at Jungleland Telford
Jungleland is one of the UK’s largest play centres and boasts mini golf, laser tag and new for 2015 a mini bowling alley. As the centre grows so does its annual Halloween event. Jungleland is now in its fourth year of running its ‘Spooky Halloween Party’ and once again have the backing of Escape Entertainment to create a brand new maze ‘Fear Factory’.
We arrived at the packed out centre ready for some fun and scares. The event as a whole has more on offer than previous years including their annual spooky disco along with new activities and a rather impressive indoor fire show!
Fear Factory is located in a secluded area specifically for braver children and replaces last years ‘Silence – Play Time is Over’ attraction with a far darker yet suitable for children approach.
e were taken on a journey to visit the long lost forgotten past of the Jungleland building. This years attraction relied far more on scripted scenes as opposed to the impact scare attractions we have seen in the past at Jungleland. This enticed us more into the story that was both well received by parents and not too complicated for small children. The Escape Entertainment team have had help from the great Haunted Lantern team by using two lanterns within Fear Factory. The use of the lanterns and their lighting patterns complimented the story and overall atmosphere of the maze.
With a great use of space, scripted scenes and a strobing impact finale, the Escape Entertainment team once again delivered a quality attraction with just the right amount of scares for their target market. Although the maze did feel shorter than their original Mission Of Fear mazes at Jungleland, the team made up for it in atmosphere and suspense. Our main criticism similarly to last years review is that the event only runs for one night and the place did seem slightly over crowded. However, after speaking to the organisers we understand next years event will run for multiple nights due to the high demand.
Jungleland's Spooky Halloween Party is a great place for children to try their very first scare attraction. Every year we see more and more children go round for multiple visits to get their scares for Halloween.
