ScareTOUR Preview of 2019
Last year was mad, (just check out all our reviews here and 2019 is already shaping up to be even bigger. At the time of writing, these are the announced events or changes that we know of already. Clearly this list will change very quickly and we will try to keep things updated as they announced. Remember our What's On pages will always include all the latest details.
January
January SHOULD be a quiet time for scare attractions but fortunately for us, Room Escape Southend will be opening The Chapel - claimed to be their scariest yet, along with Murder Hotel - a pop up event at the Southend on Sea Horror Festival. Also returning is The Ghost of Chesterton House in Barking. Up in Edinburgh - the Dungeon will be opening Mary Queen of Scots: The Cursed Crown, whilst Zombie Infection will debut The Ship - set on an abandoned passenger ship in Wales. Finally, The Vaults Festival in London will open with a vast array of experiences including The Incubus by Tom Sawyer Effect, both Seance and Flight by Darkfield and a new comedy horror - The Milkman Cometh
February
Love is in the scare for Valentine's Day as Yorkshire Scare Grounds Scream Park, Scare Kingdom Scream Park and Scream Factory will all be opening special seasonal shows to celebrate. February will also see the launch of a second new venue for Zombie Infection as they take over Bruce Wayne's mansion from the Batman movies! Terror Tower in Scarborough will open for the season around half term and The Horror Crypt and Pasaje del Terror will open with Blackpool Pleasure Beach. At the theatre, the London Lovecraft Festival will open a number of live theatrical productions based on the works of the classic horror author whilst the Vaults Festival continues in Waterloo.
March
It's usually around this time that the Dungeon attractions start to announce their new shows for the summer, but of course, the big Dungeon news is that Alton Towers will open its new Alton Towers Dungeon this month. Thorpe Park will open for the season, and there is a rumour that I'm a Celebrity may be replaced with a more permanent Walking Dead Living Nightmare. In the theater - Ghost Stories returns to the stage following the success of the recent movie.
