Needlenose: The Copycat Killer - Review
When an escape room is marketed as an over 18s live actor game, you know that the scares are going to be quite intense, but not even our hardest reviewers were ready for Needlenose!
The scares started almost immediately upon arrival in the first room and continued mercilessly throughout our experience. Like Pennywise from the movies, Needlenose taunted us mercilessly and we never quite knew what direction he would appear from next.
Which actually made it quite difficult at times to focus on the puzzles themselves as we were either too scared to look round a corner or too nervous that the clown was going to appear when we weren't expecting it.
The puzzles throughout the rooms were quite unique and were a mixture of physical puzzles, locks and combinations. . Like any escape room some were immediately easy whereas others need a bit more brain power to solve. Fortuantely there was a live games master who was able to help us out on one particular puzzle involving skeletons. We had the gist of what we needed to do right - we just couldn't get the order in which to do it.
Fortunately, by the end of the game we were able to create the banishing spell for the clown, and an escape path opened up into a mini scare attraction run out that gave us some final scares for good measure. Although we escaped in 49minutes, it felt like we had been trapped down the sewers for much longer.
All in we thoroughly enjoyed this room despite being so scared and jumpy throughout. If you are a fan of scary escape rooms, then we can highly recommend this one
