Lost Souls Alley - Review
On our recent trip to Krakow, we were looking for some lighthearted fun to do in between the many cultural tourist locations that this city is linked to, so when a work colleague asked if we’d heard of Lost Souls Alley, we began investigating!
Lost Souls Alley opened in 2013 as Poland’s first interactive haunted house with escape room elements, and for their 10th year were opening a brand new show at their existing venue. We were in the 3rd group to experience the new show on opening day. The attraction has a reputation for intensity, offering 4 versions of the show with varying levels of fun, fear and pain. We opted for the 2nd level which meant we could be separated, and the actors could rough handle us without using any equipment to cause us physical pain. The most extreme level promises frequent physical abuse and torture - not today thanks!
The entrance area looked great, and once we’d put our belongings in a locker and told the safe word (which half of the group ended up using), we were left in the waiting area for our entry time. The distant sound of screams and chainsaws in the air left some of the group wondering just what had they signed up for.
What followed was around 30 minutes, navigating our way through 12ish well themed rooms, all of which were occupied by very energetic actors with very impressive costumes and masks. The manhandling was pretty aggressive at times, but mostly complemented the attraction. Some highlights included having to lure a creature around the room using sound, a never ending crawl tunnel with horrific views of what was to come from above and assisting with the birth of the antichrist.
The escape room elements were mostly simple ‘find the key/combination’ puzzles, and is one of the areas we’d really like to see developed when the new show has bedded in.
There was so many great scares throughout delivered by an brilliant team of actors, you can tell that although this is a new show they are all experienced in the art. They have perfected tension building, and it was loyal to its ‘extreme’ character it’s become known as. It’s also worth noting it’s incredible value for money, being less than a tenner each!
If you’re visiting the city, this is a must do attraction!
