Mortem Manor - Review
When people talk about scare attractions and Florida, most people refer to the large Halloween events at the time parks such as Halloween Horror Nights and Howl O Scream. But what a lot of people overlook is the fact that Orlando is home to Florida’s only year-round scare attraction – Mortem Manor, located in Old Town Kissimmee. For Christmas, the Manor have introduced a new story-line, and as we were in Florida, we popped along for a pre-Christmas scare.
Once we were ready to go in – we were met by Heinrich the dark elf, who describe our upcoming mission. To get through the house to deck the halls with terror and fright. The only warning we were given. Don’t make too much noise as we didn’t want to catch the attention of Krampus – the Christmas devil himself.
What then followed was a long walk through the multi-level attraction with a number of lively actors, some animatronics, and a diverse range of scenes. Of course, we weren’t able to keep our promise not to make noise, and after screaming our way round we entered a large open room, where snow was descending from above.
It was only once we were halfway through this room and were laughing at the craziness of the foam like snow, that the Krampus statue we had all believed was fake, suddenly lurched to life and started to chase us! It was a great finale to a fun through of the Manor.
So if you are ever visiting Florida to experience the big theme park events, do leave a space in your diary for this hidden gem. It is the third generation of scare attraction at this site and deserves to be supported to ensure it survives!
